Oru Muthassi Katha is a 1988 Malayalam comedy film directed by Priyadarshan and written by Sreenivasan. The film stars Vineeth, Nirosha, Thiagarajan, Innocent, Nedumudi Venu, K. P. A. C. Lalitha, Sreenivasan and Jagadish in the lead roles. The film was a remake of the 1987 Kannada film Avale Nanna Hendthi, which itself was based on the 1961 British film Carry On Regardless.
The film revolves around a young man named Krishnankutty (Vineeth), who is hired by a rich widow named Bhageerathi Amma (K. P. A. C. Lalitha) to take care of her two granddaughters, Kalyani (Nirosha) and Thankamani (Jayalalitha). Krishnankutty falls in love with Kalyani, but faces many obstacles from Bhageerathi Amma's relatives and servants, who want to inherit her wealth. The film also features a sub-plot involving Krishnankutty's friend Gopi (Sreenivasan), who is a struggling writer trying to get his novel published.
